Aegis Cave Secret

I was spending too much time on a floor when suddenly, something said, "Something is approaching!"
Then the ground shook. This happened again twice; "Its getting closer," and "Its very close now!"
The last time it said, "Its right nearby!" and there was an earthquake. Then for no reason, I was teleported out of the dungeon and back to Sharpedo Bluff.
When I checked my exploration log, there was one extra *Times fainted in dungeons.*
What is this thing and why was I defeated.
